Mountaineer Open Preview
Asheville, N.C. – Both UNC Asheville and Western Carolina men’s and women’s cross country teams head to Appalachian State today for the Mountaineer Open. Competition is slated to get under way at 5 p.m.
Other schools scheduled to be in attendance include: Ohio State, East Tennessee State, Queens of Charlotte and Northern Kentucky.
UNC Asheville Preview
Headlining the field for the Bulldog harriers are a pair of freshman, Adrain Etheridge and Kevin Paradise. Etheridge led the women’s team at the WCU Invitational after placing 10th in the two-mile with a time of 11:52. On the men’s side, Paradise opened up his season campaign with a 15:57 performance over 5k en route to an eighth-place finish.
Western Carolina Preview
Western Carolina juniors Morgan Turner and Nolan Clark will look to lead the pack for the Catamounts. At the WCU invitational, Turner finished sixth over the two-mile course with a time of 11:38. Clark led the men’s team after placing seventh with a time of 15:50.
