Roberson runners fare well at adidas meet

Cary, N.C. — Second place is becoming something of a theme for Roberson junior Brooke Gordon.

For the third consecutive meet, Gordon finished in second place, this time at the adidas Cross Country Challenge in Cary. Gordon finished behind Durham Academy’s Elize Dekker (17:58.2), crossing the finish line in 18:14.8, improving on her season’s best of  18:38.85.

Other Roberson finishers included: Rachel Koon (30th, 19:49.3), Anastasia Soule (32nd, 19:53.6), Elizabeth Mosher (34th, 19:55.4), Casey Greenwalt (38th, 20:19.5), Ella Bozeman (49th, 20:38.9),  Ashley Mull (66th, 21:12.5), Lauren Cook (70th, 21:16.9), Megan McDonald (95th, 21:58.0).

In the team standings, the Roberson girls finished  in fifth behind first-place Midlothian, Henderson, Broughton, and Cardinal Gibbons.

On the boy’s side, Roberson senior Robert Kovach turned in the second fastest time in WNC this season over 5k (29th, 16:24) to lead the Rams to a seventh-place finish in the team standings.

Other Roberson finishers included: Alex Zorich (52nd, 16:51.4), Zach Houser (68th, 17:10.9), River Gordon (74th, 17:15.9), John Larson (84th, 17:24.9), Chris Harpe (95th, 17:32.9),  Charles Harpe (129th, 17:58.4), Jesse Kovacs (135th,18:05), Noah McMurry (167th, 18:35.9).
