CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina Indoor Opener proved to be more than just a test of fitness, after a brief winter break, for Asheville’s Kris Lordman.

Aside of the test of fitness, he found out how he stacked up against the state’s best.

Lordman had three top-five finishes, including a second place showing in the 500-meter dash, where he posted a time of 1 minute, 7.86 seconds.

He also took third in the 300 (36.16) and fifth in the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches).

Lordman, though winless, still put his name among the state’s best in the sprints. His 500 time ranks at the top of 3-A and is sixth among all classifications by NCRunners.com.

Lordman checks in at No. 15 in the latest national rankings by MileSplit.com
